    Primary Function

    The main focus of the Senior Underwriter is to manage the daily workflow issues and act as a liaison between the client and underwriting.  The role will evaluate mortgage applications and work in conjunction with the Account Executive in building relationships and issuing loan commitments.  This role will provide quality loans for the company by underwriting and evaluating residential mortgage applications.

    • Maintains senior team leadership within the group
    • Handles loan prioritization
    • Directs underwriters to decision loans in an acceptable time frame
    • Communicates issues to management/brokers/Account Executives as needed
    • Handles pipeline management
    • Prices loans accurately and strategically to maximize Secondary Marketing income
    • Approves or rejects residential loans within limited authority
    • Works with Account Executives and branches to assist them with qualifying loans
    • Keeps informed of current practices in loan underwriting
    • Communicates loan decision to Account Executives in a timely fashion
    • Follows up with brokers to obtain conditions necessary for loan approval
    • Collects and analyzes credit reports, financial statements, and appraisals



    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Mortgage experience required-Minimum 4 years
    • Must have DE/and or SAR/LAPP
    • High school diploma required


    Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

    • Proficient computer skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
